May 21 | Parents/Guardians as Partners (Presented by: Colleen) ** Time Change | 11:30 am**
Join us for Colleen’s presentation on how parents/guardians are an integral partner in their child’s learning journey at Emily Follensbee School. Please note that this presentation will be at 11:30 am just before our Family & Volunteer Appreciation Art Walk event. We hope to see you there!
June 18 | Indigenous Education & Land as a Co-Teacher at EFS (Presented by: Sarah G)
This year, students and staff engaged in our Truth and Reconciliation Commitment (TRC), guided by the Indigenous Education Committee and the Land-Based Learning Committee. Throughout the year, they deepened their understanding of Indigenous values such as reciprocity and respect. Classes participated in a variety of activities to explore these ideas, including creating personalized land acknowledgments, connecting with the land through sit spots, and learning about reciprocity through heart gardens and community walks.
