Fees & Waivers
School fees will be charged to families starting in October. Online fee payment is the simplest and most convenient way to pay school fees. Parents can use their online account to pay fees or apply for a waiver at: www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe.

2026-2027 Fees
The following 2026-2027 fees apply to students at Emily Follensbee School.
Student Supplies Fee | CBE Central Fee: This fee supports offsetting the cost of purchased student supplies. |
Specialized Transportation Fee | CBE Central Fee: There are no fees for 2026-2027 Specialized Transportation. |
Lunch Supervision Fee | CBE Central Fee: There are no fees for 2026-2027 Lunch Supervision as Emily Follensbee School does not have a lunch program. |
Music Therapy Fee | School Fee: This fee supports offsetting the cost of providing regular music therapy to students. |
Warm Water Therapy Program Fee | School Fee: This fee supports offsetting the cost of providing regular warm water therapy sessions to students. |
Fieldtrips & In-School Learning Experiences | Fees associated with class / school fieldtrips & other learning experiences will be provided to families prior to the event. You can find more information on the CBE school fees and waivers page. |
CBE Central Fees
For the 2026-2027 school year, a CBE central student supplies fee will apply to all students in Kindergarten to Grade 6. This fee helps offset the cost of purchasing supplies like paints, markers and pencils so that students have the tools they need learn from their first day in class. At this time, there are no fees for specialized transportation and/or lunch supervision for the 2026-2027 school year.
EFS School-Based Fees
For the 2026-2027 year, Emily Follensbee School will charge annual activity student fees for weekly music therapy and our warm water therapy program. For more information on school-based fees, please view our 2026-2027 School Fee Guide.
JB Music Therapy: This fee covers partial costs associated with contracting music therapy on a weekly basis for each classroom. Music therapy provides an active, live music experience focusing on a wide range of developmental goals for children with varying needs. This type of therapy promotes the use of music to address non-musical goals including gross motor and verbal skills, as well as promoting mental, physical and emotional wellness of students.
Warm Water Therapy Program: This fee covers partial costs associated with our on-site warm water therapy program that we provide to our students. There are many benefits to students who participate in our warm water therapy program. Their freedom of movement is increased and the warmth of our pool helps reduce spasticity, releases muscles and increases blood circulation to muscles. Students are able to do movements in the water that they cannot do on land.
Our warm water therapy program:
- Provides vestibular, tactile, proprioceptive, visual and auditory sensory input;
- Provides desired motor learning; and
- Is linked to a functional outcome; and
- Is a great opportunity for students to have lots of fun!
Fee Waivers
No child is ever denied access to an education in the CBE because of an inability to pay. If you can't afford the student fees, there are several ways to qualify for a central fee waiver. The CBE aligns with federal and provincial guidelines when assessing waiver applications. As part of the assessment process, factors related to citizenship, immigration status, and associated financial obligations may be considered alongside other relevant information.
Waiver applications for the current school year are found online through your MyCBE account and are available from the start of the school year until June 30.
How to Apply for a Fee Waiver
All families requesting a fee waiver, must submit an application for a central waiver assessment. The central waiver assessment will review a family's financial circumstance and/or any extraordinary circumstances that may impact their ability to pay student fees. Please visit our Waivers page for more information regarding necessary documentation and/or criteria for extraordinary circumstance.
- Log into your MyCBE account
- Select the Fees, Waivers and Service Registration icon
- Select the Central Waiver option > select Central Fee Waiver Application icon
- Complete the online application and any necessary documentation
- Select the Submit button
Processing Time | Once you submit your application, it can take up to 8-16 weeks for processing. Student Fees will contact your directly with any questions and/or status updates on your application.
Outstanding/Unpaid Student Fees | Please be advised that unpaid student fees from the current school year and/or previous years remain on your student's account, and may be submitted for collections in the future. If you have questions regarding outstanding fees, please contact CBE Student Fees at StudentFees@cbe.ab.ca or at the school's main office at 403-777-6980. The final deadline for submitting a waiver application is June 30 of the current school year.
