February & March
We had a fun and busy January! Our students have enjoyed cooking activities and preparing for our cookie sale. We are having fun getting competitive during our "Math Monday" team games and ball games! We continue learning through music, sensory activities, and water play. Everyone is working hard on their physical goals including: Walking, standing, jumping, dancing in the MEAS, biking, swimming, stretching, and more! Next, we will be exploring numeracy through stories and storytelling. We are also looking forward to Valentine's Day and the Valentine's (You Light Up My Heart) Dance!
November, December & January
We have been enjoying this warm autumn! It has been great welcoming our new student, Saatvik, to our classroom. He has settled in so well and is trying so many new activities! We finished our first read-aloud novel and have just started the first book of the Villains Academy series to go with the spooky Halloween season! The students find “Bryan the Lion” to be the funniest character because bathroom humour is a hit in our class! Halloween was a blast and it was great to see everyone dressed up. We have also enjoyed cooking each week and pairing it with a story. It has been fun visiting other classrooms to share what we make. Every Thursday morning, we have a volunteer who visits our class and uses a device to communicate. Our students have been very excited and expressive having such a great peer/role model to interact with! We look forward to lots of fun learning in the months to come!
September & October
It is so great to be back at school! Allie, Dione, Erica and I are having so much fun with our students Barrick, Barkon, Niko, Thomas, Lette, Hunter, Arshia and Ushria! The kids have been getting to know their new classmates and finding out they have many common interests! Our favourite book we have read so far is The Dinos on the Bus and we have also been enjoying reading a chapter of Spy School every day after lunch. Students have been working hard on their gross motor skills such as walking, standing, biking, doing core exercise, balancing and swimming! We are so excited for all the adventures to come this school year!
